SiriusXM and YouTube have teamed up with New York DJ duo The Chainsmokers for a weekly show featuring rising dance tracks. The show, called “The YouTube EDM 15” is based on the successful weekly countdown show “The YouTube 15,” which has a more Top 40/pop sensibility. The YouTube EDM 15 will obviously focus on electronic music acts. While The Chainsmokers will be the regular hosts, SiriusXM and YouTube promise “notable guest hosts” and “amazing DJs.”
“Building on the great response to The YouTube 15 show on our SiriusXM Hits 1 channel, we are excited to collaborate again with YouTube to create The YouTube EDM15, which will spotlight emerging EDM songs on the world’s largest music video platform,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM. “With The YouTube EDM 15, we will deliver to our listeners direct access to music emerging from YouTube’s worldwide audience and give our listeners an opportunity to go even deeper and discover even more of the EDM they love.”
Between YouTube’s 1 billion unique monthly visitors and SiriusXM’s 27 million subscribers, this show promises to be an incredible launch pad for up and coming DJs and producers, who have the right label backing, of course.
The YouTube EDM 15 premieres Friday, November 21st at 8:00PM EST on SiriusXM’s BPM (channel 51), and will air throughout the weekend . It will also be featured as video playlists on youtube.com/siriusxm.
