Deep house wunderkind Vanilla Ace returns to Denver tomorrow night to play HOME at Bar Standard with support from Chicago’s Derek Specs and our very own Will Raidle. The London-based DJ/producer last stopped in the Mile High City December 2013 when TheHundred hosted him at the legendary NORAD Dance Bar, and it was one hell of a party.
Serendipitously, Vice‘s electronic music arm thump just posted this nice little write-up, in which Ace discusses his experiences playing HARDfest, his impression of American girls, and that whole twerk phenomenon.
A few weeks back, VIBE shared “10 Things You Should Know About Vanilla Ace,” who happens to be a big fan of hip hop and R&B:
“Being a massive Jodeci fan growing up, I once met DeVante Swing at a after party (my Dad was doing the pictures), I must of been 14 years old, think he was surprised white teenagers dug their music.”
So do your stretches and buff up those dancing shoes because Vanilla Ace is going to massacre the dance-floor tomorrow night. And if you need a little warm-up, check out this exclusive mixtape he made for HARDfest 2014; it will give you a little taste of what’s in store. If you’re the planning ahead type, you can buy tickets here.
