It’s that time of year again; Winter Music Conference (March 15-24) is upon us and the party lineups, much like the weather in Miami, are coming in hot. Since 1985, WMC has played host to a convergence of workshops, seminars, events and of course, ridiculous parties. For those heading to Miami this year looking for some fun, there are some familiar parties on the docket again, in addition to some new ones to the field that we’re also giddy with excitement over.

The annual Dirty Bird Records BBQ is back again, as expected, to serve up their signature booty-tech sounds, with a lineup featuring the usual birdbrain suspects, such as Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Eats Everything, J. Phlip and Christian Martin (playing under his alter-ego, Leroy Peppers). Some less familiar names from the UK are in the mix – BREACH (a personal favorite), Catz ‘n Dogs and the rarely stateside, French Fries. The Dirty Bird parties are infamously excellent for house heads and bass junkies alike, and this year’s installment figures to be the same messy affair that they have become notorious for.

Where: Villa 221. 221 NE 17th Street. Downtown Miami
When: March 21st, 2013. 12PM – 10PM
Lineup: Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Eats Everything, Catz ‘n Dogz, J. Phlip, BREACH, Leroy Peppers, French Fries.

Also back again this year is UK powerhouse label Hot Creations’ annual Paradise Miami party. While Paradise Miami has had a formidable line-up in the past, this year’s edition is set to top them all. The list features names we’ve come to directly associate with the Hot Creations brand; Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Richie Ahmed, Jesse Perez, Craig Richards, Benoit & Sergio, and more. With the time listed as 10pm – ??, Paradise Miami is set to burn the city to the ground.

Where: Ice Palace Film Studios East. 59 NW 14th St. Miami. Downtown Miami
When: March 21st, 2013. 10PM – ??
Lineup: Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Dyed Soundorom, Anthony Rother, Craig Richards, Benoit & Sergio, Russ Yallop, Mark Jenkyns, Jesse Perez, Greg Pidcock

With last year’s shut down of the annual WMC closing party, Sunday School for Degenerates, a glaring need for a proper closing party became apparent. Luckily, the agency Liason Artists has come to the rescue this year to make Last Resort (which debuted in 2012) the last hurrah of WMC, and possibly the most stacked lineup of the entire week. Last Resort clearly has some big shoes to fill, but with a lineup as ridiculously deep as the one they have carefully assembled for WMC 2013, the task should be easily achieved. Deep house maestro Maceo Plex tops the bill again this year, along with personal favorites Tale of Us and Soul Clap. In addition, several first timers make their Miami debut from across the pond, such as Huxley, George Fitzgerald and Dusky. It doesn’t stop there either. More artists will continue to be added to the bill, with a very special guest announcement being made on March 5th. Don’t pack your bags early this year folks, Last Resort is not to be missed.

Where: Villa 221. 221 NE 17th Street. Downtown Miami
When: March 24th, 2013. 11am – “’til Late”
Lineup: Maceo Plex, Tale of Us, dOP (Live), Soul Clap, Michael Mayer, Tiger & Woods (Live), Heidi, George Fitzgerald, PillowTalk (DJ), Tanner Ross, Dusky, Huxley, Noir, K
